Sexual Assault of a Child Conviction for Christopher Bonnet

On February 1, 2023, a Waller County jury in the 506th Judicial District Court found Christopher Bonnet, age 30, guilty of Sexual Assault of a Child. The jury found that the sexual assault occurred back on October 15, 2021 in Waller County. Bonnet elected to be sentenced by the judge presiding over the trial and was sentenced to 40 years in prison the morning of February 2, 2023. Bonnet had previously been found guilty of attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child in Milam County before committing this crime in Waller County. This is the first felony trial of 2023 in the 506th Judicial Court. The District Attorney’s Office was represented by Bennett Dodson and Kristen Litchfield. The case was investigated by the Waller County Sheriff’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office wants to thank all of the Waller County citizens who showed up for jury service Monday and did not let the inclement weather keep them from their civic duty.
